    6n = 30 + 3 (n - 4)

    6n = 30 + 3n - 12 because you simplified the parenthesis

    then subtract 12 form 30 to simplify equation

    6n = 18 + 3n

    then subtract 3n from both sides

    6n - 3n = 18 + 3n - 3n

    3n = 18

    than simplify the equation: divide both sides by 3

    n = 6

    6n = 30 + 3 (n - 4)

    6n = 30 + 3n - 12

    6n = 3n + 18

    -3n

    3n = 18

    /3 / 3

    n = 6
