    1) p (7p - 3)

    = (p) (7p + - 3)

    = (p) (7p) + (p) (-3)

    = 7 p2 - 3 p

    Answer is: 7p2-3p

    2) 3 (2y-1) + 2 (3y+1)

    Distribute:

    = (3) (2y) + (3) (-1) + (2) (3y) + (2) (1)

    Combine Like Terms:

    =6y+-3+6y+2

    = (6y+6y) + (-3+2)

    =12y+-1

    Answer is: 12y-1

    3) u (3u + 2) + 2u (u-1)

    Distribute:

    = (u) (3u) + (u) (2) + (2u) (u) + (2u) (-1)

    = 3 u2 + 2u + 2 u2 + - 2 u

    Combine Like Terms:

    3 u2 + 2u + 2 u2 + - 2 u

    (3 u2 + 2 u2) + (2u + - 2u)

    5 u 2

The answer is: 5 u and the unit of 2

    5 u 2
