Harold bought 7.2 pounds of apples total. The price per pound is $1.75. So 7.2*1.75=12.6

The total price Harold spent on apples was $12.60.

If both are $1.75 a pound, then just multiply:

    3 x 1.75 = $5.25

    4.2 x 1.75 = $7.35

    5.25 + 7.35 = $12.60

Harold spent $12.60 on apples. (That is pretty expensive by the way.)
