Claire says the area of a square with a side length of 100 centimeters is greater than the area of a square with a side length of 1 meter. Is she correct? Explain

    To answer Claire's question we need to convert both dimensions into same units.

    100 cm=1 m

    this implies that both squares are the same hence their areas will be the same. Thus we conclude that Claire was wrong, neither of the area of the squares is greater than the other one.
