Ok so

(vp+12v) + (8p+96)

reverse distributive property is

ab+ac=a (b+c) therefor

vp+12v=v (p+12)

and

8p+96=8 (p+12)

now we have

v (p+12) + 8 (p+12)

undistribute again

(p+12) (v+8)
