    A Pythagorean triple is any set of side lengths of a right triangle where each length is an integer value.

    So really all you need to do if you are given three side lengths is to check that the hypotenuse squared is indeed equal to the sum of the squared sides ...

    50^2=14^2+48^2

    2500=196+2304

    2500=2500

    So this is indeed a Pythagorean triple.

    To determine a pythagorean triple, we must use the 3,4,5 rule, which is a^2+b^2=c^2.

    Let's try 14^2 + 48^2 = 50^2 using our rule.

    14^2 = 196

    48^2 = 2304.

    50^2 = 2500.

    2304 + 196 = 2500.

    Yes, this is a pythagorean triple.
