Given the function g (x) = 6x, Section A is from x = 1 to x = 2 and Section B is from x = 3 to x = 4.

Part A: Find the average rate of change of each section.

Part B: How many times greater is the average rate of change of Section B than Section A? Explain why one rate of change is greater than the other.

    Part A:

    - Section A average is 9

    - Section B average is 21

    - Both have the average rate of 6, though. This is because the slope of g (x) is 6

    Part B:

    - Between the averages, it is 21/9. One average may be higher than the other due to the fact that one has a higher value of g (x) than the other

    - The rate is equal due to the fact of the similar slope of g (x)
