    Well, if you multiply 1/8 by 4, the fraction become 4/32, and if you multiply 1/4 by 8 you get 8/32. Now that both fractions have the same denominator, we can determine which fraction is of greater value. Since the 1/4 or 8/32 of the one pound of lead has a greater numerator, it is of greater value.
