The sum of two numbers is forty-five. two times the larger number is three times the smaller number.

    X+y=45

    2x=3y

    2 (45-y) = 3y

    90-2y=3y

    90=5y

    y=18

    x+y=45

    x+18=45

    x=27

    The two numbers are 18 and 27
