Mrs. Waterston wants a fence in area for her dog. She has 72 feet of fencing and wants to use all of it to enclose a space with the greatest possible area. Which dimension will give her a space with the greatest possible area?

    Biggest area for smallest perimiter is a circle

    she has perimiter aka circumference=2pir

    72=2pir

    divide both sides by 2

    36=pir

    divid both sides by pi

    11.4592=r

    radius=11.4 feet

    circle is biggest area
