    3x - 0.4 (5-2x) = 5.6

    First multiply - 0.4 (5 - 2x) which is - 2 + 0.8x

    Now we have 3x - 2 + 0.8x = 5.6

    Then add 3x + 0.8x which is 3.8x and plug it back in which is

    3.8x - 2 = 5.6

    -2 - 2

    3.8x = 3.6 and divide both sided by 3.8

    and the answer is x = 0.94736842105

    First, you need to distribute in the parentheses.

    -0.4 (5 - 2x) = - 2 + 0.8x

    Next, you simplify.

    3x - 2 + 0.8x = 5.6

    3.8x - 2 = 5.6

    Then you try to isolate x (by adding 2 to both sides of the equation in this place, then dividing by 3.8).

    3.8x - 2 = 5.6

    +2 + 2

    3.8x = 7.6

    /3.8 / 3.8

    x = 2

    You’re final answer is x=2
