It cannot be 4, because 8 and 12 dont work, it cannot be 16 because 12 wouldn't go into that, it cannot be 48 because while it would work, there is a smaller choice, which is 24. You can put whole 8's, whole 12's, and whole 4's in 24 and not have any numbers left.
