x^2-7=4x^2+5
x^2-4x^2=5+7 - combine like terms
-3x^2=12 divide by negative 1
3x^2=-12 divide by 3 to isolate x.
x^2=-4
to get rid of the power, we have to square root, but since we cant square root a negative, it becomes no solution.
In case your teacher wants imaginary numbers as part of the solution
You would get x=2i
