    it will take 2 minute 30 seconds

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Cheeta dа ta:

    rate = 18 m/s; time = t seconds; distance = rt = 18t meters

    Gazelle dа ta:

    rate = 16 m/s; time = t seconds; distance = rt = 16t meters

    Equation:

    gazelle + 300 meters = cheetah

    16t + 300 = 18t

    2t = 300

    t = 150 seconds (time for the cheetah to catch the gazelle)
