    To solve an equation you need to have the variables on one side and the numbers on the other.

    In order to keep the variable positive, move them to the right side.

    13-4x=1-x ← add + 4x to both sides

    13-4x+4x=1-x+4x

    13-1=1+3x-1 ← subtract 1 from each side

    12=3x ←:3 to isolate x

    123=3x3

    4=x ← this is the solution
