    The average rate of change can be solved using the slope formula

    M = (y1 - y2) / (x1 - x2)

    At year 1 the car is about $4900

    At year 7 the car is about $1600

    M = ($4900 - $1600) / (1 - 7)

    M = $ 550 per year
