3x-1/3=5, x=1 7/9
Split the equal sign in half on the left side of the equation, do + 1/3 on both sides and cross out the duplicate add 1/3 and 5 which is which is 5.3
Next bring down 3x put a line under 5.3 and 3x, then put 3 under the line, cross out both 3's, do 5.3 divided by 3 which = which equals 1.76 then turn it into a fraction which would be 44/25 turn that into a mixed number and it would be 1 7/9
Therefore, this statement is true
