What yo do is distribute first

    a (b+c) = ab+ac

    so

    don't forget to distribute - 1

    -4 (2x+3) = 2x+6-1 (8x+2)

    -4 (2x) - 4 (3) = 2x+6-1 (8x) - 1 (2)

    -8x-12=2x+6-8x-2

    -8x-12=2x-8x+6-2

    -8x-12=-6x+4

    add 8x to both sides

    -12=2x+4

    minus 4 both sides

    -16=2x

    divide both sides b 2

    -8=x

    B
