Find the roots of the quadratic equation y=x^2+3x+2

    X^2+3x+2=0

    x^2 + (2x+x) + 2 (splitting middle term)

    (x^2+2x) + (X+2) = 0

    x (X+2) + 1 (X+2) = 0

    (x+1) * (X+2) = 0

    Therefore, X = - 1 or - 2
