Write the standard equation of a circle with center (2, - 5) and radius 16. (x + 2) 2 + (y - 5) 2 = 4 (x - 2) 2 + (y + 5) 2 = 16 (x - 2) 2 + (y + 5) 2 = 256 (x + 2) 2 + (y - 5) 2 = 256

The general for of equation of a circle is

    (x - a) ^2 + (y - b) ^2 = r^2

    In our example we have a = 2, y = - 5 and r^2 = 256 so the answer is:0

    (x - 2) ^2 + (y + 5) ^2 = 256
