    smaller number: x

    larger number: x + 19

    smaller + larger = sum

    x + (x + 19) = 97

    2x + 19 = 97

    2x = 78

    x = 39

    larger number: x + 19 = (39) + 19 = 58

    Answer: 58

    78:2=39

    39+19=58
