Above sea level is obviously positive, and below sea level is negative. so climax is + 11560, and calipatria is - 185. 185 is closer to 0 than 11560, so cali is closer. to find how much, subtract the two. 11560 - 185 is the third answer

Climax, the highest in the US at above sea level = 11,560 feet

It can be represented in an integer form as:

    + 11650 feet

Climax, the highest in the US at above sea level = + 11,560 feet

Calipatria, the lowest town at below sea level = 185 ft

It can be represented as - 185 feet

So, by comparing the distance from the sea level, since distance cant be negative

Calipatria is more closer to sea level than climax, Colorado

The difference between the level of both from sea level = 11560 - 185 = 11375 feet

Hence, Calipatria is more closer to sea level by 11375 feet.
