A leak in a pool causes the height of the water to decrease by 0.25 ft before the leak is fixed. After the leak is fixed the height of the water is 4.75 feet. The equation 4.75=x + (-0.25) can be used to find x, the original height of the water in the pool what was the original height of the water in the pool

    x = 4.75 + 0.25

    x = 5.00 ft
