Tamara says she used the GCF to factor the expression 21x + 56xy as 7 (3x + 8xy). Is she correct? Explain.

    Explanation:

    21 has the following factors; 1,3,7,21 and 21 is not a factor of 56 so the GCF is 7.

    21/3 is 7 and 56/8 is 7 therefore the expression is also correct.
