Anne bought a dress with a regular price of $100. She bought it on sale at a 1/4 discount. Then, she was a charged a 5% sales tax on the final sale price.

    100 * 1/4 = 25

    she gets 25 dollars off

    100 - 25 = 75

    The price of the dress before tax is $75

    75*.05 = 3.75

    The tax is 3.75

    75+3.75 = 78.5

    The dress after tax is $78.75
