If the scale is 1 or more cm to every meter you can count 7 from A

if it is 2cm to every meter you can count 6cm and count this as 3 meter so that when you extend another 6cm you have 3m + 3m = 6 meters it would just be 2 more cm to count for 1 m to equal it has 7m.

Repeat for 4m for C which is 4 groups of cm depending what the scale is.

The two should meet at a cross the same as counting one direction from 7 and counting across for 4 in another direction.
