A student pays for 8.9 pounds of apples, if a pound costs 0.99 and the student pays with a ten dollar bill how much will they get back

    Simple

    Pounds = 0.99

    Apples bought = 8.9

    0.99 • 8.9 = 8.811

    Simplify to 8.81

    Student pays $10

    Subtract 10 - 8.81

    Answer : $1.19
