David need 36 gallons of punch for a party and has two different cooler to carry I in the bigger cooler is 5 times as large as the smaller cooler how many gallons can each hold?

    and big cooler can hold = 30 gallons

    and the number of gallons hold by a bigger cooler is: 5x gallons.

    Hence, we get:

    x+5x=36

    i. e. 6x=36

    On dividing both side by 6 we get:

    x=6
