Let's call the first number x. We know that the second number is consecutive (which means it comes right after the first number), so it's going to be x + 1.
We know when you work out the sum of these two numbers, it equals 115, so now you can form an expression:
x + (x + 1) = 115
Now you just need to simplify and combine the similar terms:
2x + 1 = 115
Now subtract 1 from both sides:
2x = 114
And finally, divide by 2 on both sides to isolate the x:
x = 57
Now that you know x = 57 (where x is the first number), you know that the second number is going to be 1 more than that (as it's consecutive). So it's going to 58.
Your two numbers are 57 and 58. And when you add them together, you'll get 115 (as 57 + 58 = 115).
