X^2 - 4x + 4 = 0
x^2 - 2x - 2x + 4 = 0
x (x - 2) - 2 (x - 2) = 0
(x - 2) (x - 2) = 0
x - 2 = 0
x = 2
x = 2 is the only solution to x^2 - 4x + 4 = 0.

The solution to this would be x = 2.
Because the factoring is (x-2) ^2 = 0, which would be x = 2.
