To decorate a cake, you make a shade of purple icing using 2 drops of red food coloring for every 3 drops of blue. For 12 drops of red food coloring, how many drops of blue food coloring would you need?

    The answer is 18 because the red is 2 and the blue is 3, you make a colume chart of red and blue. Then its red in the top and blue at the bottom. You need to mutiply by 6 cause the red have 12 so you do the same thing to the bottom and the answer is 18.

    12 divided by 2 is 6 ...

    6 mutiplied by 3 is 18.
