    The answer is actually 2 because you have 0.5x (I think that's what it's supposed to be) and 6x.

    Y = 0.5x^2 + 6x + 2 (adding 5 to both sides of the original equation)

    Discriminant b^2 - 4ac = 6^2 - 4 * 0.5 * 2 = 36 - 4 = 32

    The discriminant is positive and not a perfect square so the equation has 2 x intercepts.
