Seymour is twice as old as Cassandra. If 16 is added to Cassandra's age and 16 is subtracted from Seymour's age, their ages become equal. What are their present ages?

    First you use the given information to create an algabraic equation

    2x-16=x+16

    +16 + 16

    2x=x+32

    -x - x

    x=32

    then you add or subtract 16

    Seymour is 48 years old and cassandra is 16 years old
