This is my way of doing it ...

Rearrange the equation to - x^2+4x+3

    Then - (x^2 - 4x) + 3

    -[ (x-2) ^2 - 4] + 3

    -[ (x-2) ^2] + 4+3

    - (x-2) ^2 + 7

    final answer : y=7 - (x-2) ^2
