    The amount of money paid to each of the officer is the sum of the wage and the benefits. This amount is equal to $80,000. The number of officers (n) that can be hired by the town is the quotient of the total budget and the pay per employee.

    n = ($800,000) / $80,000

    n = 10

    Thus, the number of employees is 10.
