How to solve 2x - 8 = 5x + 3

Remember, you can do anything to an equation as long as you do it to both sides
2x-8=5x+3
minus 2x both sides
-8=3x+3
minus 3 both sides
-11=3x
divide both sides by 3
-11/3=x
x=-11/3
