The garden club is designing a garden with 24 cosmos 32 pansies and 36 marigolds. Each row will have only one type of plant in each row. Ben says he can put 6 plants in each row. He listed the factors of 24 32 and 36 below to support his reasoning. Is he correct? Explain your answer. If his reasoning is incorrect explain how he should have found the answer.

    3 is a factor of 6 but not of 32. Ben is wrong, 32 is not evenly divisible by 6.

    8, however, is a factor of each of these numbers. So rows of eight plants each would satisfy the garden club's criteria.
