    Next time, use the carrot for exponent like this:

    x^2+7x+6=0

    The first term is a, the second is b and the last is C

    Quadratic is ax^2+bx+c=0

    The formula is - (b) + - squareroot (b^2 - 4 (a) (c)) all over two a

    So youve got:

    -7 + - square root (49-4 (1) (6)) divided by 2 (1)

    Simplify

    -7 + - squareroot (49-24) / 2

    -7 + - square root (25) / 2

    25 is a perfect square of five, so tou have

    (-7 + 5) / 2 And (-7-5) / 2

    You answers should be : - 1 & - 6

    X² + 7x + 6 = 0

    x = - (7) + / - √ ((7) ² - 4 (1) (6))

    2 (1)

    x = - 7 + / - √ (49 - 24)

    2

    x = - 7 + / - √ (25)

    2

    x = - 7 + / - 5

    2

    x = - 7 + 5 x = - 7 - 5

    2 2

    x = 2 x = - 12

    2 2

    x = 1 x = - 6

    The solution is equal to {1, - 6}.
