How do you solve 2+6x=1-x

    So to solve for X you want to get it alone.

    --first move your variables to one side, by adding 1X to each side

    So from that you have 2+7X=1

    --Then you want to finish isolating the Variables by moving the positive 2 to the other side. by subtracting it because to cancel out a number you need the negative of it. Ex:-2 undoes + 2

    With the 2 moved over you have 7X=-1

    --All that you have left is to remove the number next to the X and you are done so divide each side by 7.

    The overall answer is X=-1/7
