    6 adults - 6*39.50 = 237

    11 kids. - 11*31 = 341

    341 + 237 = 578

    Hello,

    So the equation is 39.50x + 31y = 578

    So first x has to be number of children and y be number of adults so; x+y = 17 31x + 39.50y = 578 x=11, y=6.

    The answer is Y=6.
