Are 16:14 and 64:60 equivalent? Explain?

If a:b=c:d then a/b=c/d and ad=bc
so
if 16:14=64:60 then 16/14=64/60 and (16) (60) = (14) (64)
(16) (60) = 960
(14) (64) = 896
960≠896
not equivilent
the easiest way is to simplify them
16/14=8/7
64/60=32/30=16/15
not equal
not equivilent
