To answer this question you can use an equation. Since the width is what we're finding we can replace it with x. Using the information given we know that the length is 50m and it is 6m more than 2x. More than means addition. You can write the equation like this: 2x+6=50. Using the inverse operation to get 2x by itself we need to subtract 6 from each side, leaving 2x=44. Continuing with the inverse operation, to get x by itself we need to divide 2 by the numbers on both sides of the equal sign, leaving x=22. That's your answer: 22 meters.
