Fred bought 6 new baseball trading cards to add to his collection. The next day his dog ate half of his collection. There are now only 29 cards left. How many cards did Fred start with?

    So fred bought 6

    then so he had 2*29 on the 'next day' or 58

    then 58-6 to get how many he started with or he started with 52

    Half is 29

    multiply by 2 = 58

    minus the 6 new = 52 baseball cards
