How do you factor: #y = 2x^3 - 32x #?

    Which two factors are common to both terms of the given expression?

    One of those factors is 2; the other is x.

    Thus, y = 2x^3 - 32x = 2x (x^2-16)

    Also note that x^2-16 is easily factorable:

    y = 2x (x-4) (x+4) (answer)
