A construction crew has just built a new road. it took them 7 weeks to build 8.75 kilometers of road. at what rate did they build the road?

    7 weeks = 8.75

    1 week = x

    where x is the kilometers of road built in a week

    Proportion:

    8.75/7 = x/1

    7x=8.75

    x=1.25
