Latrice randomly selected 25% of the seventh-grade students in her school and asked them their favorite season. Of the students surveyed, 51 chose summer as their favorite season. Based on the data, what is the most reasonable prediction of the number of seventh-grade students in her school who would choose summer as their favorite season?

    This question involves reverse percentages

    We will call the students x, for the time being.

    This means that Latrice did: x * 0.25 = 51. Note that I am using the only students that chose summer, this means that there are others who chose other seasons but we arnt given the data. So, rearranging x = 51/0.25. Which equals 204.

    Therefore this means that there are a minimum of 204 students in seventh grade. However, we are asked to predict, so we can say there are 204 students in the sevenh grade
