First, break up 235 into 200 and 35. If you need to you can break up 200 into 100 and 100. Next, divide 200 by 5 to get 40. If you broke up 200 into two 100s than divide both by 5 to get 20 and 20. Divide 35 by 5 to get 7. Finally, add 40 and 7 to get 47.

235/5=47
