The floors of houses in Japan are traditionally covered by tatami. Tatami are rectangular-shaped straw meet that measure about 6 feet by 3 feet. If the width of the room is 9 feet and the area of the room is 216 square feet how many tatami are needed to cover the floor?

    I think this is right. The answer is 12.

    24 times 9 equals 216, which is the area of the room floor.

    Then I did 6 times 3 equals 18.

    Then I divided 216 by 18 to get 12.
