As people exited a movie theater, they were informally surveyed about whether they enjoyed the movie or not.

Males

Enjoyed: 47

Did not enjoy: 13

Females

Enjoyed: 53

Did not enjoy: 3

What are the values of a and b in the relative frequency table for the survey results? Round answers to the nearest percent.

a = 40%, b = 4%

a = 41%, b = 3%

a = 47%, b = 3%

a = 41%, b = 19%

    I'll just do a relative frequency for the whole table:

    Enjoyed Did not Enjoy Total

    Males 47 13 60

    Females 53 3 56

    Total 100 16 116

    Enjoyed Did not Enjoy Total

    Males 47/116 = 0.41 13/116 = 0.11 60/116 = 0.52

    Females 53/116 = 0.45 3/116 = 0.03 56/116 = 0.48

    Total 100/116 = 0.86 16/116 = 0.14 116/116 = 1.00

    I'm not sure where a and b should be but based on the table: it can a = 41%; b = 3% or a = 47% or b = 3%
