    solution:

    forces cause changes in the momentum of an object

    newton's second law tells us:

    F=ma = Î" (mv) / Î"t

    so, Î"t=Î" (mv) / F

    =3kgm/s/6N = 0.5 s

    answer: the force act on the mass for 0.5 S
